Be the change you want to see in the world.

Earlier this week I noticed they've put up a 'Wishing Well' at the main lobby. But I've been too busy to make a stop. My first thought was that it must've been one of their money-making schemes (heh) because from what I've understood, wishing well is a place where you make a wish (and hoping it would come true someday). Yesterday afternoon, however, I had some spare time so I decided to take a look. The first thing my eyes fell on was the line on the signboard that says "INTI Project... bla bla bla". I almost left because I smugly thought that my assumption was correct. And then I noticed the banner on the left and turned to read. I almost slapped myself silly. Ha. Ha. It was a charity project to help the Sarawak Children Cancer foundation (or was it Society). Bah. I shed a tear.

Amidst all the fuss about the 'new government' issues everywhere in this 'new nation', humanity still exists. It touched me. Personally I think it's about time the people of this country focus on what is more important than their own personal agenda. Everybody (well, if you're not among these people, please do not assume that I am including you in 'everybody') seems to be fussing about the racism issue and racism issue only. It's true that it is crucial in order for us to stand as one (so to speak). But for decades, we (excluding me and those who did/do not participate) have been addressing this issue head on over and over and over again, but there is still no change. "The people have spoken", they say. I wonder why is it, then, that we are still facing the same problem? Yes, singular. I didn't make a typo or grammatical error there. There is still no change and we are still debating over the same issue. Yes, singular. ISSUE. We have not moved even an inch from where we have started decades ago, darlings. Perhaps we could try on a different, and new approach? But then again, that's just my two cents. Nobody has to agree or even take note of it. I just don't get why everybody is focusing on why the bridge is broken instead of channeling all the energy on finding the best solution to get it fixed.

"Be part of the solution. Be the change you want to see in the world."
